What is the SEMI-OPEN SYTEM?

This clinic is part of the semi-open systems of
Tokyo Metropolitan OTSUKA Hospital (東京都立大塚病院)
SEIBO International Catholic Hospital (聖母病院)
Japanese RED CROSS Medical Center (@Hiroo) (日本赤十字社医療センター (広尾))
AIIKU Hospital (愛育病院)

We offer the prenatal checkups in accordance with the standard prenatal checkup system in the Tokyo 23 ku (wards).

If you visit a typical outpatient clinic at a clinic or a hospital in Japan, you wait for a long period of time just to see the doctor for only several minutes. Here, thanks to our appointment system, the pregnant patients wait for less than 30 minutes. In a hospital, doctors always change. Here, the same doctor, fluent in English, working level in French, always performs the prenatal checkups thoroughly. Each time, the doctor takes a close look in the major organs including the brain, the heart, the kidneys, the gall bladder, etc. In addition, the doctor tries a 4D ultrasonography. Whenever there is a good shot, you will receive a photo printout (fees applicable). The doctor always performes transvaginal ultrasonography to detect preterm labor.

But when there is a problem at night, what shall I do?

After the fetal heart beat is observed, the doctor always issues a TENTATIVE LETTER OF REFERRAL. You are advised to always carry it. When the clinic is closed, you visit a hospital and show the letter. This should help you explain about yourself and medical problems should there be. If it is not an urgent matter, you are always welcome to address any question via e-mail (disclosed to patients only).

Prenatal Test

The QUATRO MARKER TEST, or the quad screen test is available. The following four markers are analyzed:
AFP: alpha-fetoprotein is a protein that is produced by the fetus
hCG: human chorionic gonadotropin is a hormone produced within the placenta
Estriol: estriol is an estrogen produced by both the fetus and the placenta
Inhibin-A: inhibin-A is a protein produced by the placenta and ovaries
